Great spot for a special occasion, this is located inside the JW Marriott hotel and has a classic steakhouse ambiance. The menu has plenty of offerings to choose from including seafood, pasta, and of course steak. We started with the king crab and oysters and both tasted very fresh. We also got the hot stone wagyu appetizer, it was a great way to sample the wagyu at a lower cost than ordering a full portion. We both ordered filet mignon for our main course, Dean's style and with a crab cake on the other. Perfectly cooked to our requested preference. The sides were delicious and a substantial portion. Highly recommend the bread pudding if you have room for dessert. This was an expensive meal, however the quality was definitely top-notch and our server was very attentive the entire meal. I don't often visit steakhouses in Austin but I would gladly return.

Truly a lovely place to dine, especially if staying at the JW Marriott, which is an amazing hotel to stay at! Service was excellent, the food was great and plentiful, and the vibe was romantic but also family-friendly.

Absolutely loved the service. Our server was very classy and he checked up on us in a very good manner. (Not too much but not an overbearing amount) The ambiance was a romantic setting, dimmed lights, candles, and the booths were very elegant. The chairs at the tables were very comfortable to sit in for a long period of time. A server came out and asked if we were celebrating anything special and we had let her know it was our anniversary, And she came back with a beautiful handwritten note. For our food we ordered: Hot Stone Wagyu ($40) Cold Water Lobster Tail "Scampi Style" ($59) Truffled Bucatini ($26) Overall Great Experience and will definitely be coming back!

Expresso Martini Mocktail - tasted like the real thing but with no alcohol 10/10 Wagyu Meatballs - sauce was really good & the meat was super tender 10/10 Lobster Scampi - the majority of the noodles were al dente but some of it was not cooked through all the way, the roasted tomatoes & lobster tail made up for it as well as the sauce super yummy 9/10 Service - our waiter didn't really check on us and they weren't that busy, I had to flag someone down to get us drinks. Could've been more attentive if he had checked on me for my entree I would've said something but oh well. 7/10

4.2 Stars Pros - I really liked the atmosphere of Deans - it's a great spot for a classy low key celebratory din. Service was attentive which I appreciate. I really enjoyed my filet mignon, espresso martini, and the desserts. We tried all of the desserts and the table favorite was the bread pudding. Next up was the limoncello pie. Lastly, the restaurant is inside the JW Marriott so it's also easy to pop over to their lobby bar for some live music & a cocktail. Cons - I wish they leaned a little more into the "Italian" side of the restaurant. I was excited to try the wagyu bolognese dish and it just didn't hit. I feel like for an Italian steakhouse it just could have been done better. I also felt the steaks weren't consistently cooked. Someone at the table ordered medium rare and it came out extremely rare I wouldn't have been able to eat it. My pregnant friend ordered medium and it came out medium rare. I just feel like at a steakhouse that's a big missed steak ;)

We dined here with a party of 8 to celebrate a birthday. We were seated in a room near the entrance with several 4 top tables at a long table along a glass wall of wine. The ambience was GREAT! The room was really nice to offer a touch of privacy. Our server was GREAT! Man, I wish I could remember her name but she was from Chicago. I started with a margarita (21 seed cucumber tequila) and it was refreshing and delicious. Then we switched to wine. The shrimp cocktail to start was a little tough and not something we would reorder. My husband ordered the Filet Oscar which she said was a fan favorite. It was amazing. The broccolini was undercooked and not something he would reorder. I shared 3 entrees between 3 of us: bolognese, scallops, and bucatini. All were delicious! The bolognese was my favorite and the scallops were a close 2nd. The scallops were very rich and it was perfect to sample them, but I'm not sure if love that as a single meal- truly delicious but again, very rich. Service was excellent! Food was excellent! Truly a fantastic evening.

Celebrated an anniversary dinner here and the food, ambiance, and service was top notch. Portions could've been bigger for the price but suppose you're paying for the quality and cuts. The stand out stars for us were the bread and butter, bone marrow appetizer, and tiramisu dessert. Definitely worth a try for a special occasion celebration or dinner. Located in downtown Austin, park in the garage there and get your ticket validated at the front desk before you leave.

**UPDATE** Everything above is still great about this place, but now, one of my favorite mixologists in town is working behind the bar! Her name is Matiana, and if you can, get a drink from her. Not only are the drinks incredible, but when she makes you a classic Old Fashioned, it doesn't miss. Also, it's helpful that Dean's Steakhouse has a wide selection of whiskey, bourbon, and wine to sit back, drink unique cocktails (or classics), eat great food, and talk to great people behind the bar. Cheers!
